December Art Exhibit

Home for the Holidays
Eileen Gunning

See Dutchess County Artist Eileens Gunning's exhibit "Home for the Holidays" displayed at the Kent Public Library until the end of December.

"I delight in a variety of painting mediums, including acrylic, oils, colored pencil , assemblages, and pastels. I celebrate the beauty of the area in landscape and wildlife paintings. My pet portraits memorialize our beloved animal companions. As a textile artist, I use the wool from my sheep in felting, spinning and weaving. Hair from a remembered horse or other companion animal is often woven into hangings."

October/November Art Exhibit

Beauty in Metal
Kevin Feerick

"Kevin Feerick is a lawyer who has practiced law for over 25 years. Throughout this time he has been absorbed by art especially metal sculpture which he has observed closely. For the last 7 years he seeks to make his own work, his forms and his representations.

He is dedicated to trying to capture the essence of a movement in nature or a part or a form of the body. He seeks to shape the hardness of metal to respond to the feelings evident in such representations."

Come and see Kevin's work displayed at the Kent Public Library until the end of November.

Athena Pallas has exhibited widely and is a valued member of local artists’ groups.
The exhibit opens September 2nd and runs through the end of the month. It is sponsored by The Friends of Kent Library who support programs and equipment for the library and conduct a legendary book sale every spring.

Letter from Richard Harrison, Friends' President...

June 15, 2014

Dear Friends and Volunteers,

Well, here we are, after another successful Book Sale and we owe it all to your hard work. There is no way we could pull this off without your help and dedication. As you know, this is the Friends’ largest fund-raising event of the year and we made over $5,500. This enables us to continue helping the Library with their needs in this wonderful 50th Anniversary celebration year and into the future.

We are so proud of all of you and so grateful for your help.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Most sincerely,

Richard Harrison, President
