I make art because I need to- Art is Life is Art for me!
I'm drawn to different techniques and materials so I don't contain my creative curiosity and art adventures to just one approach, genre or medium.
The theme "A Little Bit of This...A Little Bit of That" reflects my artistic journey and eclectic approach. I invite my audience to experience each artwork with no preconceived notion that the piece has some sort of "meaning" but that instead "it is what it is" to each person who views it.
My work encompasses a variety of processes and mediums such as painting, printmaking, steel sculpture, mixed media, textiles, ceramics, weaving, driftwood, natural elements, recycling and upcycling.
Each medium presents its own challenges as I work to express ideas and create unified compositions through the elements of art and principles of design, including color, shape, form, line, value, texture and movement, among others
Through constant experimentation, I've come to understand that each piece I crate helps me to see that art is not about following a single path, but about embracing the multitude of directions that creativity can take me.
